Competition Terms and Conditions

1. General Rules

  • Be Polite: Please be respectful of each individual with whom you interact.
  • Content: Only upload content that belongs to you.
    You are responsible for what you publish on DD. If you make a mistake with your content, we will remove it so that your content complies with our rules.
    We are especially vigilant about photographs including children. Please think twice before posting anything with a picture of your child, or anybody’s child.
    Your content must not include anything inappropriate including nudity or suggestive poses.
    Logos or Banners must not be included in your content upload.
    If you break our rules, you will usually be given a warning. If your breach is serious, you may be blocked without ay warning. Blocking may be temporary or permanent at our sole discretion.
    If you post anything illegal, your account will be permanently blocked and the authorities will be informed.

2. Dollar Dogs Pty Ltd
Dollar Dogs Pty Ltd (DD) is a company registered in Australia. It provides a Competition platform with a $1 entry fee. Each competition is run by an Australian registered company associated with DD. The Begin Date and Closing Date for each Competition are set out on the Competition Description page for each separate Competition. The precise opening and closing times for each Competition is included in the terms and conditions page for the particular competition. During the Competition period, registered website users and those who register within the timeframe may submit photos of themselves and/or their pets (referred to as ‘Participants’). Winners are advised by email or phone. Competition results are announced on the website at the conclusion of each Competition and on any social media platform used to promote the Competition.

Participants are solely responsible for their photos and must uphold and respect the integrity of the website when posting them. Specifically, Participants must ensure that their Competition photos do not violate the following:

(i) Intellectual property rights of third parties without obtaining necessary permissions. In uploading their content, participants guarantee that they possess all rights and authorizations from the concerned parties.
(ii) Privacy rights of individuals. Participants agree to obtain necessary authorizations for the reproduction and representation of any individuals used in photos presented in the relevant contest. Participants are reminded to be especially careful regarding content involving children.
(iii) Public order and accepted morality. Participants are responsible for maintaining ethical standards in their online pictures and comments, refraining from disseminating violent, pornographic, or reputation-damaging content.

Photos may be rejected for the following reasons:

  • Vulgar content (nudity, sexually suggestive poses, etc.)
  • Content prohibited for commercial, moral, or public reasons
  • Content contrary to morality and/or public order, especially involving unclothed individuals
  • Representation of elements subject to intellectual and industrial property, such as original works, trademarks, registered designs, etc.

Photo validation may take a maximum of 96 hours. The organizing company is not liable for any content posted by a member.

By submitting any photograph containing the image of a minor (under the age of 18), the participant represents and warrants that they are the parent or legal guardian of the minor. The participant also agrees to provide proof of this relationship upon request by the contest organizers. If one of the parents or the child’s guardian does not want the child to participate in the contest, a request for removal from the contest can be honoured within 96 hours.

DD my, in its sole discretion, refuse to validate or remove photographs without further explanation. DD may block access to accounts temporarily or permanently, in its sole discretion.

3. Use of the Website

3.1 Who may register

The creation of an account for DD is open to legal adults only. That is, you must be over the age of eighteen years at the time of registration. Only adults resident in Australia may register.

Family and associates of individuals with an employment contract with DD or any associated company are not permitted to register.

3.2 Online Registration

Only persons registered on the website may participate in a Competition.

To register, individuals must visit the website, go to the registration web pages, and complete all the required fields of the registration form, including at least one photo of their pet. The fee for registration is $1.00.

Please keep your information up to date.

Each participant may have multiple pet profiles and each of these profiles may participate in contests as long as the criteria set for each contest is observed.

3.3 Buying Votes

Participants may purchase votes. The organizing company is not responsible for any issues that may arise with payment systems. Furthermore, no compensation will be provided by the organizing company for any invested amounts.

If a customer’s card issuer (bank) or one of our payment providers declines a payment, this cannot be attributed to the organizing company.

If a participant’s account is deleted either by their own action or by DD, no compensation will be given for the invested amount, regardless of the reason.

Additionally, if a member erroneously pays for the wrong recipient while attempting to give votes to a participant, no compensation or refund will be provided for the invested amount.

4. WINNERS

Contestants are eligible to enter as many competitions as they like but are limited to winning 1 major competition per 12 month period.

There is one winner for each Competition.
Registrants are provided with one vote upon registration. Registrants have the opportunity to vote for their preferred Participants. The Participant with the highest number of votes for each Competition will be the winners of that Competition. In the event of a tie in the number of votes among the winners, the prize will be determined by a random draw.

Winners will be contacted on their phone number or email address specified in their registration. Winner will also be announced on the “Winners” page of the website dollardogs.com at the conclusion of each contest and published on any social media platform which has been used to promote the Competition. All Participants expressly consent to publication of their names and photographs in this manner.

5. WINNING PRIZES

The Participant who receives the highest number of votes in a Competition will receive one (1) winning prize.
Winning prizes are specified in the terms and conditions for each individual contents. Winning prizes cannot be extended, replaced, or refunded, even in cases of loss, theft, damage, or destruction. Additionally, winners are not permitted to trade or transfer their prizes to others.

6. Notification and Publication

The “Winners” will be notified of their prize via email and/or phone within twenty-four (24) hours after the Competition’s Closing Date. Prizes will be sent to the address provided within two (2) weeks of receiving the necessary information from the Organizing company (such as a copy of proof of identity, address, phone number, birth certificate, etc.

Prizes are non-transferable and can only be awarded to the Participants. If the mailing address or email address is invalid, or if the Participant fails to provide the required documentation within fifteen (15) days following the Competition’s Closing Date, the prize will not be sent or awarded to the Participant. In case of a returned prize due to an incorrect address or a prize sent by registered post and not retrieved by the recipient, the recipient must request the prize within thirty (30) calendar days. After this period, the prize will no longer be available.

The selected “Winner” must provide the following documents to the Organizing company:

1. A copy of their passport, driver’s licence, or other official documentation verifying their identity.

If the information provided in these official documents differs from the information provided on the site the prize will not be awarded.

The Organizing company is not responsible for any issues that may arise during the delivery of the prize.

If a Participant’s account is deleted, either voluntarily or by DD, no prize will be sent, regardless of the reason.

In the event of suspected fraud, the deadline for receiving the prize may be extended up to 90 days. Additionally, if fraudulent vote purchases are confirmed (e.g., stolen card), the member’s account, participation, and prize will be cancelled.

8 – PERSONAL DATA

The Organizing company assumes no responsibility for any internet malfunctions. Participation in the contest implies an understanding and acceptance of the inherent risks and limitations of the internet, including potential misuse of information, hacking, virus contamination, and other technical issues that may disrupt or impact the Participant’s experience. Therefore, DD and its associated entities disclaim any liability for the following:

  • Transmission and/or reception of data and/or information on the internet.
  • Internet malfunctions affecting the contest’s operation.
  • Failures in receiving equipment or communication lines.
  • Loss of paper or electronic mail, data, or information.
  • Routing problems.
  • Consequences of viruses, computer bugs, anomalies, or technical failures.
  • Failures of a Registered member’s computer.
  • Any changes to settings.
  • Automatic indexing of the site by search engines.
  • Payment issues arising from the user or the payment provider’s refusal.

Neither DD nor its associated entities are responsible for any loss, damage, modification, or inaccuracies in participant data caused by website users, equipment, or programming related to the organization of the competition or the internet network itself.

The Organizing company is not liable for any interruptions, extensions, suspensions, modifications, postponements, or cancellations of the contest due to reasons beyond its control, including technical problems, fraud, postal issues, strikes, and other factors. No compensation will be provided to participants for amounts invested in the Competition.
The Organizing company is not responsible for any fraudulent behaviour by a Participant.

9 – FORCE MAJEURE

Neither DD nor any associated entity shall be held responsible if, due to force majeure or events beyond its control, the contest is modified, shortened, or cancelled.

10 – ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In continuing with the registration process, all Participants are taken to have read and fully accept these terms and conditions. Participation in the contest implies the complete acceptance of these terms and conditions.

11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The reproduction, performance, or use of all or part of the elements contained on the site is strictly prohibited. All trademarks, in any form are registered trademarks owned by their respective owners. Any use of these elements, regardless of the mode, is subject to the protective rules of intellectual property.

The Organizing company reserves the right to modify these rules and will inform Participants through notifications on the website.

12 – APPLICABLE LAW

This Contest is governed by the law of Queensland.
